OREGON NARCOTICS ENFORCEMENT ASSOCIATION

O.N.E.A.

Training

ONEA holds two major narcotic conferences a year, the Summer conference in July in the Bend area and a combined December Conference with Washington State Narcotics Investigators Association in the Portland area.

In addition to these two main conferences, ONEA also puts on and supports regional training throughout the year and other specialized training classes such as an Aerial Marijuana Spotter School and Methamphetamine Clandestine Lab classes.

Funding

The Oregon Narcotics Enforcement Association is a non-progit organization. Funding for the two main conferences each year as well as the many Regional and Specialized training sessions held throughout the State is obtained through membership dues, conference registration fees and a fund raising company.

FYI, the Executive Secretary is the only paid person within the entire ONEA organization. The rest of us are volunteers. The Executive Secretary's wages are paid hourly as her hours vary widely from month to month.

In addition to training, some funds received by ONEA are also disbursed as charitable donations to other organizations for drug endangered children throughout the State.

Beneficiaries

Some of the charities that ONEA donates to are as follows:

  • Drug Abuse Resistance Education
  • Oregon Partnership
  • National Teen Leadership Program
  • Southern Oregon Drug Awareness

ONEA strives to provide up-to-date information to the public through its website and public speaking engagements. With over 300 active members throughout the State, ONEA members are on the front line of the ever-changing world of narcotics enforcement.
